Dear Bill, thanks for the input. Your maximum of 26 might be the explanation. In fact, beside my 26 Mailmate tags, I see in Preside a bunch of additional tags/keywords that start with $ ($Junk, $MDNSent,…), which I guess are “universal” keywords.

All IMAP servers must support a set of system IMAP keywords: . These start with `\`. Various semi-standard keywords exist starting with `$`. These should, ideally, have the same meaning in all IMAP clients.

The question is : how are these 26 selected (not the most recent, not the oldest, not the first or last by alphabetical order), and am I allowed to decide which 26 are accessible (I guess not).

My guess is that they are the first 26 you created.

In addition, as my server uses Exchange, I am even more surprised that it works, even if only partially.

Hmm, me too. I thought there was very little support in all variants of Exchange.

I think some users have had success with using Davmail as a proxy to Exchange. I believe it can map IMAP keywords to Exchange categories.
