Doing that simply moves the line.  It doesn't actually solve the problem.

It may work for most normal day-to-day sending values. But any time you have a contentious topic, like this one, come up, chances are quite good that the number of messages sent by the mailing list will still cross the line and have a problem.

I think it's better to fix the actual problem instead of trying to tune the reports so that you don't see the problem (as often).
