Thanks to Al for his (as usual!) useful thoughts.

I was cheekily wondering whether the original authors of the BATV Internet
Draft, John Levine, Dave Crocker and Tony Finch (I don't think Tony is
subscribed to mailop), might have any views on the probity of its use in
today's times.

This question is particularly in the context of using BATV for normal (ie
person to person, non bulk) outgoing messages.
