Do you know what an IRB is and what their role is? While the terminology may be not what I’d choose the underlying message is: - This research project has been reviewed by the appropriate panel at the research institution; - This research project has been determined not to be performing research that can harm people and/of collect clinical data about them as individuals that can be tied directly to them; - This research project is not subject to the more extensive rules and regulations related to human research. If you’d like to discuss the form of the warning and the wording specifically, I’m sure there are fora hosted by the various government agencies and oversight organizations that you can join to tell them their wording is confusing. Finding those fora is left as an exercise for the reader. Laura _______________________________________________ mailop mailing list [email protected] https://list.mailop.org/listinfo/mailop
