I think Dick is correct that the need for desktop software is not going 
away.  Web-based solutions and desktop solutions can and should be 
complementary.

The fight for public access to public data does not seem to be going 
away.  However, I have been greatly encouraged by the volume and quality of 
data that can be downloaded from the web.  Anyone who knows Caliper's 
history with public domain data should understand that we intend to 
continue to make useful public data available at minimal cost.

As users ourselves of various statistical packages, I would prefer that we 
link to more than one alternative.  We will investigate doing this in the 
future.  Thanks to everyone for their comments and suggestions.
