In Maptitude 4.5 and TransCAD 4.0 we will provide a new set of geocoding macros
that report also the confidence in the geocoding result as a score.

By the way, If you want to use the GISDK to create a geographic database on the fly from a dataview,
you can use the macro "GISDK Address Match" in the "geocode" UI compiled module that is shipped
with the GISDK and Maptitude for the Web. The documentation for "GISDK Address Match" can be found in the Word document geocode.doc that is shipped with the GISDK.

We do not recommend using the macro "GISDK Address Match" in a web page because the macro itself takes time to run proportionally to the number of input records in the dataview, and that in most cases will be greater than the 2-5 seconds that someone on the web is willing to wait for a page download. Also, geocoding an entire dataview is an iterative process, and to get good results you are better off using the Maptitude desktop dialog boxes that provide that functionality (Tools - Locate by...)

Something that could be added concerning geocoding is to give some indication of the quality of the geocoding result and in addition to the long/lat, the census block group, census tract. The quality could be represented by a score which  would be similar to that given by GDT's geocoding engine or Centrus.
