Position Announcement INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGER The Information and Communication Technology Office seeks an Information Communication Technology Manager to take office in April 2010. The Information and Communication Technology Manager reports directly to the President. The duties and responsibilities are as follows: · Envision the future of computing and communications technologies of each units/offices by coordinating and providing assistance in decision-making of unit heads of every units of Miriam College. Anticipating IT Office’s informative effects in higher education, administration, research, collaboration, and community outreach. · Facilitate the open discussion of MC IT plans and policies at all units/levels of the campus administration. · Develop standards and guidelines for the deployment of computing and Internet technologies throughout the Institution. · Build the enterprise-level IT environment through the use of professional technology-acquisition practices. · Lead the effort to formulate an effective computer and network security plan for the institution. · Promote an IT environment that now extends worldwide through the use of the Internet, developing institutional policies on the appropriate uses of digital information, electronic communications, networks, and computers. · Arrange seminars, workshops or training for the executive level of the Institution to propagate technology awareness that is essential and integral part of the decision-making. · Implement security audit recommendations on the network in conformity with the internal systems security controls. The position is open to both academic and non-academic candidates. The candidates should have completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science/Engineering or any related course. S/he should have at least five (5) years of considerable experience in ICT technologies, i.e. systems development, package software evaluation, database management, networks, and communications.
