As to alienation issue: it is an issue raised by all classical Scottish
philosophers including Adam Smith.
However as George Lukacs has shown it became a conservative concept in the
20th century. The concept the Marxists have to start with is not alienation
(no longer). Rather they have to start with the concepts of exploitation and
commodity fetishism.
