The entire discussion about supporting specific legislation has very little meaning if we have nobody in office, does it? If you support a bill without having anyone on the floor to explain your position, you reduce yourself to yet another Great American Consumer of public imagery. This is, of course, the reason it makes no practical sense to vote for a capitalist party or its candidates. For all the reasons people had to vote for Obama, say, the process reduces their vote to something utterly indistinguishable from someone who voted for him because they liked his haircut. And don't fool yourself: both votes count the same and have no qualitative difference in terms of the campaign.
