I think Gary's half-right.
On the one hand, I don't think there have been any bombshells; very
little that anyone on this list wouldn't have already known, or
suspected was possible, from reading the alternative media and being
informed by friends on lists like this about things we missed on our
own in that media.
On the other hand: what's new is that all of that is now in the
mainstream media, which finds it hard to ignore. And the huge scale on
which Wikileaks is publishing these, and the support they're getting,
scares the shit out of the world's rulers.
Not that they won't find a way to get past it, barring some organized
way to take advantage of this opening (any ideas on that?).
By the way -- has anyone yet made the parallel to Trotsky's publishing
of the Allies' secret diplomatic treaties?
In the meantime, defend Julian Assange and Brian Manning!
