If the working class fights, it has a chance to win something worthwhile. If the working class confines itself to voting, the ruling class is "willing to concede" precious little. Bernie Sanders and AOC had mass support – but they never got serious about building organization upon that support so that it might lead to fighting action. So far, Mamdani too wants the masses to vote for him, period, while he tries to negotiate with Hochul, with the executive of the NYC police, and now with Trump. It is absurd to say that Mamdani governs. Compare Michael Bloomberg when he was NYC mayor. He did not need to go, almost like a supplicant, to the governor, to the president, to the resident billionaires. Bloomberg governed, simply because his program was a capitalist program, and so he had a free hand to govern. The Soviet Philosophical Dictionary has a relevant definition: Bourgeois objectivism - that explanation of the necessity and appropriateness of the historical process, which justifies and praises the capitalist structure. Thus, P.
