David, For those laborers as myself in many lands - refrigeration saves in the costs for food - and thus solar power energy helps in providing that energy source, to prevent spoilage of needed food to get through each month - those as myself on limited funds to cover each month. And more households can use solar panels to operate their energy needs. Including medical related needs.
I am not interested in arguing how many angels fit on the head of a pin - Not all people are nice, or even thinking whom engage in antisocial actions that harm others and they do not care about that harm. When life was simpler without weapons of mass destruction, the behavior and actions of others had less significance on the survival of all humanity in every land. I recognize religious faith zealots as a threat to humanity and ideological zealots whom also do not care what their actions, or failures to actions - result in. The dangers from natural disasters to more of such human created harm to nuclear reactors - is sadly very real. Perhaps you consider a different work field, as those in military or police "service" settings, should abandon such occupations. Cuba (as most places in the world) can do without fossil fuels and nuclear power - and to do without capitalism, militarism, etc. I am not going to change my views, as my respecting animals and not harming and that includes harm to this planet. I recognize the so far sad limitations of many humans who are selfish and not caring for all, as a better empowered community trying to have a better world - than the messed up one we each were born into without our permission and to then adapt, accept "the rules" to conform too. I care not about your behavior until it does harm others - as exposing humans and animals to harm Solar panels do not endanger people or animals or our planet's environment - nuclear does. Many people should not be entrusted with such power to cause great harm. If you believe the religious cult groups who want Rapture Now - for their faith misbeliefs - are not dangerous and we can just place nuclear reactors as missiles and other dangerous weapons in their grasp - then you are making some rather huge assumptions about present human behavior - when we have not established a genuine world cooperative socialist society - that includes much needed education and awareness. Presently many in the USA support Trump - showing how public education has much failed to provide the essentials to question and not just believe and accept what they are told. The same for every other nation that has large numbers of fearful and backward mindsets. We have to organize and establish socialist cooperative societies - before those benefits from such as better energy needs, etc. can be implemented for all. Then we can trust a organized society providing needs and not harm for some to profit from. The nuclear profiteers that are sadly capitalist owned - are a threat to humanity because of humans employed whom do not take responsibility and pride in their work that is for society - and then mess up and do not follow their jobs - and become complacent - as those in not only capitalist governments but in "mixed economies" as Cuba. Complacency and adapting to capitalist pressured had many Cuban government leaders more focused on the amount of hotel rooms occupied by tourists that in providing as good (if not better) services to the Cuban laborers and their family, friends, neighbors. There should have been by now - for every Cuban laborer - all medical needs provided by solar energy. Instead we see some privileged with their own power generators (as Raul Castro's son's apartment) whom meets with USA operatives whose apartment had no symbol of July 26 Movement and he showing interest in colluding with the USA operatives.- that I witnessed on television provided gleefully by CNN corporate media. This is present Cuba and their government that is focused on compromise with the USA operatives, since much of the Cuban populace are not revolutionaries but holding backward mindsets easily to manipulate by whomever holds the central government power. The Cuban government leadership has encouraged such - and this the results, that I fear will lead to another historic defeat. As you prefer to ignore the dangers of nuclear power under capitalist rule and management and perhaps the historic stalinist government behaviors of betrayal and accommodating to capitalist rule, lies, markets and long time undermining of a socialist society to welcome capitalist profiteers whom seek personal gain, as they undermine a just society that cares about people and not exploiting and harming such. The ideas and models of a socialist system against greed and harm, are undermined consciously by "market forces" greedsters.
