I've done that, too. It actually works pretty well; it's
certainly faster than the Sun1 I shared with four programmers
in 1985. As always, the more RAM & hard drive, the better.
The screen is small, but very sharp.

I've started to, at least on systems that don't have a direct
connection to the net. Kids (relatives or friends) come in &
want their AIM/web fix; it's easier to set up one account that
any of them can use as needed. With the G3 acting as a NAT
firewall, I can have 3 or 4 people pounding on a dialup --
if everyone is just doing IM stuff, it's not slow at all.
