Yeah, 66 compared to 50 ought to help.  I bet the 60 MHz bus on my PCP 210 is part of 
what helps it feel snappy, though with Linux it is probably faster than MacOS anyway.

I don't know how fast the original bG3 drive is, but I have a new 7200 RPM drive to 
install OS X on.  _If_ I like OS X enough that I feel comfortable wiping the original 
drive, and _if_ having a real Unix-style partitioning strategy is possible and 
relatively easy in OS X, I might use the original drive as a secondary for swap space 
and logs for exactly the reason you mention.

Speaking of partitioning and OS X on a beige, what exactly is the deal with having it 
installed in the first 8 GB?  Does the partition have to be 8 GB or less, or does it 
just have to start in the first 8 GB of the drive, or what?
