As yet, none of the full Linuxes will run on a Plus, or any other 68000 Mac (SE, Classic, etc). No MMU or FPU. Also missing a couple other things I don't remember and don't feel like looking up ;)
If you really want to get into the number of Macs, I have about two dozen or more. I actually have a reason to use maybe 6 of them very often :) Ironically, I probably use my Macintosh Classic the most (not counting the servers that get quite good traffic but sit there) as an IRC client and as a telnet console to my servers. System 6 runs great :) Scott Holder -----Original Message----- From: MaX List [mailto:max-list@;mail.maclaunch.com] On Behalf Of Russell - Unknown1 - Idaho USA Sent: Wednesday, October 23, 2002 12:01 PM To: MaX List Subject: Re: Ancient Ux Systems [was suse?] I have several plus systems I have yet to figure out how to operate (one with a HUGE external 20meg HD), I wonder if Linux or BSD can be run from a floppy? :<{) -- MaX-list is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... / Buy books, CDs, videos, and more from Amazon.com \ / <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/lowendmac> \ Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> MaX-list info: <http://lowendmac.com/linux/max.shtml> Send list messages to: <mailto:max-list@;mail.maclaunch.com> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:max-list-off@;mail.maclaunch.com> For digest mode, email: <mailto:max-list-digest@;mail.maclaunch.com> Subscription questions: <mailto:listmom@;lowendmac.com> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/max-list%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Macintosh?
