Being able to apt-get install stuff at whim is very nice, rather than
having to track down rpms and their deps. The MandrakeUpdate thingy
helps a lot, but it's still not as nice and requires X, I think.

Being a newbie, I like X when it works. Double-clickind a .rpm will open
the package manager, listing deps and other info. All for naught if your
installing the nvidia driver for example but easier on the newbie for
most other things. I do little cli and most of what I learn leaks away. :(

For the fun of it I've made room for a install of Darwin 1.4.1 on the
7300 and should finish building a pc that meets the requirements by the
weekend. My first taste of a BSD flavor. Anyone here tried it?

Still deciding which 68k mac would be best to try debain on. :)
