1: MK linux requires less space to install...maybe
only a gig or two.

MkLinux has not been updated in several years. Connecting such a system to the internet is a large security risk in my opinion.


I would
say that Linux is only valuable to a few classes of users, all of
which are off the beaten path in the first place:

We are rolling out almost a dozen Linux desktops for use by our Sales/CSR staff.


We don't use IE, Outlook, or Office on Windows, we use Mozilla/Firefox, Thunderbird and OpenOffice. mainly because of security reasons. We might as well run those apps on Linux and gain its stability and administration ease over Windows. Technology advancements under Windows will be stagnant until 2006 when the next version of Windows becomes available. I expect many advancements in Linux over the same time period.

A Linux choice is not as off the beaten path as you might think.
