I did mention LaTeX, didn't I? :-) I never said that OpenOffice didn't suit the needs of some people. Clearly Microsoft Office suits the needs of some people, and OpenOffice is not fundamentally different (in comparison to something like troff and TeX). I was disputing the need to switch from your typical Macintosh or Windows environment to Linux unless you fit one of those esoteric needs. While there may be needs which I didn't enumerate, for the most part they would remain esoteric.
