It really doesn't. I was just pointing out that broad
generalizations aren't always good idea. :-) and I
was trying to make point. VAX is non i386 and I would
call Open's support "better" than Net's in this
instance.
(on a side note, the key words are "base system."
base system meaning: kernel, daemons, and normal
tools. Ie, sshd, cat, ..... , the whole thing )
To be fair though, Open's support of m68k got real
screwy during 3.5 and 3.6. It almost got dropped as a
supported arch in fact. Its just now getting squared
away in some of the current snapshots. I'm not sure
how bad it was, because the last m68k machine I still
use is an SE/30. And that SOB is slow, so new
installs don't happen very often :-D
