What kind of constraints did you see?

Adding spam filtering really took a lot of CPU.
The web proxy really gets a workout, as a business that uses a lot of graphics, pushing/pulling big images over SSL to a remote site takes horsepower.


What part of it got bogged down?

DNS isn't a heavy CPU hog

Uses a lot of memory though. The newer ( than quadra ) systems can accept more RAM. The 9600 is great in that respect. You are right, the CPU usage there is not great.
