I don't have any help for you with YDL4. However, if you're looking to
show off a Linux distro, you could always try Ubuntu. Their Hoary the
Hedgehog version runs well on my G3 Bondi Blue w/288 mb ram. There's
also a live cd version that runs well too.
Newer Linux distros are easy to install on New World machines.
Most of the new distros have dropped installation support for Old World
( beige ) PowerMacs.
That is the issue, not which distro to choose or demo.
Unless Ubuntu _does_ support Old World Macs, and you've installed it on
an Old World Mac.
