I think the reason for this becomes a little more clear if you turn on
"show all headers" in the settings menu. The attachment is attached to
the original message which has a different ID. to the forwarded
message, so in order to send it you have to do as said above, save it
from the original message - not the forwarded message - then re-attach
it to the new one.


At least I think that's why.
