I just purchased a Xitel DG1 USB->MD digital adapter as well. It does
everything it claims, automatically marking tracks, etc. It's very dumb
and very slick....except for one major problem which will force me to
return it!

Some MD recorders (depending on version of ATRAC, etc.) start decoding the
digital signal before they start recording, so you lose the first 2-3
seconds of each track! :( I have a Sony MZR-50, and this problem
occurs. Xitel Tech support says other newer MD recorders will start
recording immediately upon receipt of the new track info... I have yet to
try other recorders.

Xitel claims that this is a problem with the MD recorder and not their
device, but I wonder how my CD player works fine doing digital transfers
of CDs...The track marks are marked perfectly and their is no loss...

Jeff.
