Pete,
These Unichip boxes are supposed to be very competitively priced as well, i
think i read they are designed for the more modern "set & forget" systems used
in a lot of cars around these days. Most manufacturers are trying to get more
than their fare share of the aftermarket ECU industry and make the stock unit
very difficult to replace HDT & Tickford are classic examples of this. The piggy
back units that were popular in the mid 80's are now very much back into their
own, one of these units will work with the stock dizzy (so i'm told) and fuel
systems and simply overrides (remaps?) the difference in the signals from the
ECU. Sounds simple enough but i'm sure it's a bit more complex than that - who's
going to buy one and let us know first hand how good they are? With the
introduction of these units i would think the price of the new wave of products
coming on the market just might bring the price down a bit and then along comes
the GST bugga
