I would prefer the 3.54 for two reasons.
You can only get them in R180 size so they should handle the grunt.
3.7 is the stock 1600 manual ratio.  A turbo should be able to pull a taller diff as it has much more torque, especially round 2500 rpm, where your engine would be sitting when travelling at the legal speed limit.

Subject: diff ratio on turbo motors

G'day Terry, I remember sone time back you were discussing the merits of diff ratios and turbo motors ie you suggested 3.7 seemed to be better for the performance of your car.  I was just interested in the ideas behind it.  I have a 3.9 in mine and while it works fine, it runs out of revs real quick in 1st, and has a fair engine speed in 5th on the freeway.  Would the 3.7 be more suited to me, or even 3.54 ?

Thanks for your thoughts, Wardy
