Brad,
If you're doing serious thrash work then I'd reckon the Supra box is
worthwhile trying although have you tried a R30 stumpy as they are strong
but the ratios are not anywhere near as good as the Supra which is I have
gathered is what you're mainly after. At $650 the price all up is pretty
good if it's in good condition. I have used a few of them (in Toys with 7MGE
and 18RGU) over time and they don't break easily. The only problem I've ever
had with them is the idler shaft bearings can be a bit dodgy and scream in
the indirect gears (this is stating the obvious but someone might not know
the symptoms) when you shove high hp through them but they are a dead easy
box to repair with "A" quality bearings (must be cause I can even do it)
(:-. The synchros have never been a problem either, even with Japanese
sourced examples.
I've still got a N3030 that still is working but linkage and selectors are
getting a bit sloppy (hard to get 4th going around rh corners), they were
prolly one of the stronger Nissan boxes but they are wide ratio so it's only
an average to good street box and that's when you get the correct diff
fitted. Keep us informed on your progress.
regards
Terry

Not an essay at all Terry I appreciateyou advice.
I have an Option one, although I converted it to Option None a while
back....
Reckon I'll stick with the Supra conversion. I can get one for $650 fully
recon close ratio with a quickshift conversion
Thanks
