We just cut lengths 3" and then bend them
to the right degree then weld them. We do mandrel bend some 2"
connecting pipes on some popular models just to save time and hassles with the
press bender. But all 3" systems we have to make as we go as we dont
know exactly were the bends have to sit. Except for the WRX that we
pre-make 3" systems. All exhaust shops would buy the 3" bends
sepratly.(unless they have a bender)

So do you mandrel bend a straight pipe at your
work or weld up different bends to straight pieces of pipe?

Walker cat is ok i guess but NO muffler? That will be damn loud i tell
ya! I would put a small muffler in just to keep it down a bit. I
can understand why u would want to do it yourself, we charge around the
$1100 to $1700 mark for full 3" stainless systems!! Nearly the cost

looking at the possibility of making my own 3 inch mandrel bent
exhaust when I drop in my Z18et. I plan to use only a 3
inch hi flow Walker cat and no muffler. I know that the whole
exhaust is welded together rather than press bent and fitted but do
I buy the pipe and get it bent myself (which seems that it would
just be the same as a press bent exhaust) or can I buy pre bent 3
inch pipe sections? Any tips on building my exhaust
