You have pretty much described what you can pick up in Sydney for between
$600 (used centre) - $1200-$1500 (new centre, price is higher for lower
ratios) from SSS or it may have been from Stewart Wilkins. Nice diffs and
there are quite a few 1600's getting around here with these fitted (:-
Most common ratios are available i.e. 3.55 up to 5:1 from Stu. 260Z had 3.7
auto, 3.9 manual, 280ZX (non turbo) manual 4.11, auto 3.55 (that's steep but
that's what the book says, I guess it's correct)

I built my 4.11 LSD R180 from a 78 Skyline diff and a new LSD centre.
260/280Z's have R180's (non LSD) and I think manuals were 4.11 ratio?
Anyone confirm/deny?
New LSD's can be purchased from Nismo or removed from the aforementioned
Navara/720 utes.
I'd look at buying the ute diff with LSD then pick up a non LSD 4.11 R180
and do a swap of the LSD. Weld the Ute diff for a competition spare.
