Aussie cars first rego'd after late 71ish are supposed to have a
collapsible steering column fitted OEM and I think Nissan also fitted the
locking steering when they changed over, I cant recall ever seeing a spear with
a factory steering lock. On an early 1600 you have to fit the collapsible
column off a late 1600 and then a 120Y box - someone said on here a while ago
that a 200B column works.
It's a
pity the early box has to be changed as they are a superior box to the Aussie.
It's not the actual box that's different but it the flexible coupler that the
collapsible column requires to attach to the input on the
box.
