When i brought my 1600 the guy didnt know much about the motor except it went pretty well for a 4 cyl NA motor. Now that it has done a head gasket, I have measured the head volume which is 45 cc (ml). The piston at TDC has a volume of 4cc (I guess these would be classed as flat tops). What is the usual thickness for a head gasket?  If i allow a 4mm thickness then with an 86mm? bore thats another 4cc. With the standard bore/stroke my calculations say a compresion ratio of ~10.3:1. Does this sound accurate to you guys. I need to know what fuel to run it on before i put it back together. The previous owner ran it on avgas only, but i would like to run it on optimax.
