Title: RE: To FLY-16H CRASH!!! :(
I don't think they'll charge me with speeding as such, I think they'll charge me with Neg Driving or Driving in a Manner Dangerous.

Either way since my last ticket, my new system, is TAKE ALL FINES/TICKETS TO COURT!

Objectives:

1. Delay paying for as long as possible (the more people that take their fines to court, the more likely it'll never actually see court)
2. Judge can reduce points or decree no points for ticket
3. Judge can reduce fine or decree no fine for ticket
4. If you don't want to pay or can't afford to, you have the option of community service (which most people don't realise, you need to request this from the judge)

It doesn't cost much. If you wait until the reminder comes in the mail, before you send it in to elect to go to court, you get an extra 1-2 months.  Then the summons takes another month or so to arrive, court usually 4-5 months in advance.

In fact it is not unheard of to have the date pushed back several times due to more important cases entering the legal system.  The end result can be the case never sees court, and no points or fine have to be paid!

For my fine that I got in my Mazda for unregistered, I'm going to plead GUILTY.   But explain that the car was only driven 250 meters down the road and back to establish that the car was performing correctly after just having changed the head gaskets.  The car was only out of rego because a head gasket blew 1 week before rego expired, and as I'm employed part-time, it took a few weeks to repair, doing the work myself, to save money.

I've got more to add but I won't bore you guys too much, sufficit to say that, court is all about respect and appearance.  Providing information and argument to support your case not is not necessarily all important, but will show the judge that you have put more effect in, so likely will he.   In most cases, if you dress well and are polite to the judge, don't speak out of turn, or interrupt anyone else, and address the judge properly, you'll get a reduced fine and possibly no points.

Sorry to hear about your car, as long as no-one was hurt.
If they decide to charge you with a speeding type infringement then you should take it to court.  Then they know that when they call the witnesses they won't be able to prove you were speeding, even if everyone said you were.  If they could prove that sort of thing we wouldn't need speed cameras/laser radars.

Coppers said they'll call me later and probably charge me with something
cause all these damn witness came off the street and even one out of a
building to tell the coppers that I was hooning.  I said to the cops, I
wasn't speeding, maybe I chirped a bit off the line, maybe there was another
chirp into second (like a couple of witnesses said) but I didn't exceed
60km/h.  I also said that the witnesses qualified to judge speed like the
police have to be training.  But one copper pointed out that having 6
witnesses (at last count) all volunteering (everyone was walking home etc in
North Sydney), they'd likely give me a ticket and if I wanted to take it to
court, that'd be fine, and they'd call the witnesses.

    later,
