I don't know the specifics of Datto diffs with CV's but Toys even have R200LS diffs that are clutched eg Supra/Crown/Cressida so my best guess is they could be either.

Theres a guy in malaysia that says he get r180lsd's but doesnt say if there mechanical but they have cv type axles Datsun 510
