Wow, Errol, that's the longest post I ever seen from you! The confiscation
of cars seems pretty unfair, I have to say. Here that doesn't occur at all.
Smoking them usually results in a stern "telling off" and at worst a few
points on your license for wreckless or dangerous driving. The confication
of vehicles is a very unfair and descriminatory law and may not actually be
legitimate.

Here the government is now being seriously challenged over the speed camera
laws over them being in infringement of human rights (the notice they send
you after being caught basically tells you to confess of be prosicuted which
is in itself illegal... it's coersion and and infringement of your right to
silence). The whole buisness has been take to the European Court of Human
Rights and it looks as though the government may loose their case at the
moment. So just because they make up a law doesn't mean they can neccesarily
enforce it.

I don't condone street racing etc but a smokey launch is a bit less serious
than a full on street race. I don't think there are many people here who
haven't made a few new road markings of their own. Having a car which might
have cost thousands to build confiscated for it is a bit too harsh,
especially when some fool with an old beater looses much less for the same
crime.
