Hello Andrew, Unfortunately it is part of the law that you cannot tailor every punishment to every crime, and it would seem that in this case you have come across a cop that is intent on making an example of you. It is a shame that because there is no subjective way to classify the size of a burnout, minor piddling little things like what you did has to be put in the same basket as idiots who pose a genuine threat to themselves and others. You were the only one who actually witnessed the event, so you are the only one who can judge if you got what you deserved - but regardless I would still be kicking and fighting to hold onto my car!
