Here it was called a Datsun 1800 and never had Laurel badges
although it did still have L logos on the grille and pillar vents. The C30 was a
Prince design for sure ...the G series engine is one of theirs too.
Maybe the cars sold there are identical to Japanese spec ones
which were always sold as Nissan. From what I gather from old Japanese
brochures, all the up market models and cars were sold as Nissan and low so spec
trucks and the like carried the Datsun name there. My Brochures for 710, B210
etc don't mention Datsun anywhere.
Nissan did well out of that merger. In '66 Nissan had such low
tech cars like the 411, all drum brakes, OHV \ustin engine, leaf springs and
wishbone front end. The bingo! two years later they have the highly
sphisticated C30.
