Just to clarify this. Ian Moon runs Howard
Revell steering in Isa St Fyshwick. When I spoke to him last week, he was adamant
that the other Revell Steering was not a part of his
business. Ian and Dennis Sergeant used to run Centrepoint
Steering. I have known Ian since the early ‘70s, when they were in Kembla St. and of all the suspension places in Canberra, I would
recommend him above all the rest. He has the best knowledge, is affordable and
doesn’t have the ego\attitude that some of the other people have. Feel
free to say you are a friend of mine if you like.

Terry,
Sorry Terry my post was a little ambiguous - My last contact with Ian was when
he ran Revell in Lyell st Fyshwick (think they've moved since I last visited in
Jul '02) AFAIK he hadn't joined Capital but what do I know - Dad always got his
hire cars and stretch limo done at Centrepoint Philip, so I took the tip from
him and followed him at Revell.

OK,
seeing as that is the case you can be assured that he will give you decent advice
and quality workmanship every time. Ian has been involved with suspension work
(road, rally & race) for a very long time in Canberra (70's) and before
that in Sydney. He owned Centerpoint in Fyshwick with Dennis ? and when the
partnership fell out, Ian moved to Phillip. I had lost touch with him, so
I must pay Capital a visit as I need some decent donuts for the 1600
anyway.

Another vote for Capital, I purchased new 30mm lowered front springs and wheel
alignment - since they do a few rally cars they seem to do a few 'classic'
street cars such as Celicas and Dattos. I've also had work done at Revell
fyshwick - Ian used to run Centrepoint in Philip and are good to deal with on
old cars.

Hi All,
Took my car to Pedders (I know, bad me) yesterday for a 28 point check... I
knew it needed a wheel alignment and I thought they could shed some light on
why it wanders. Current suspension is very stiff, front more so than the back.
Blah blah blah, they said it would never be 100% but if I was to replace all
bushes with rubber it would certainly help and that my current wheels and tyres
(TRX rims wearing 195/55/15 tyres) weren't exactly helping matters. Here's the
list of failures and the quote to replace them...
Front shocks $250 ,Front bump stops $87, Rear shocks $148, Subframe mounts
$147, Wheel Alignment $60.
So including labour of $480 the grand total comes to $1172!
Does anyone else think this is a bit rich? Anyway, options? Do I shop around
for a better price (any ideas on who else to go to in the ACT, pref Belco but
will travel if necessary) or do I get the front end done first and the back
when I can afford it...
