If you are looking at lowering the car, a good set
of shockies up front is a must. As for bump stops, fit a new set but get some
designed for your purpose. If the height isn't changing, you could fit the
standard ones. I lowered my S14 and refitted the standard bump stops. Bad move,
as it was hitting pretty hard on decent bumps. The last thing you want is to
wreck the new shocks. Have now fitted some taller ones which cushion the front
an no more problem.
As for cutting down spings, this is a real no
no. It absolutely stuffs up the rating of the spring. King Springs are
around $120 per pair and you can have low or super low for the
front.
Rear shocks are much of a muchness. Depends
on how hard you want the ride.
There must be some other Datto people around
you that can help with the fitting. Should take a few hours for the shocks
and springs, not sure about the subframe mounts.
