There are many mixed feelings on power steering fluid. ATF is a lot different than it was in 1983 in terms of additives. MB now sells its own Power Steering fluid. However, I do not think you will see a big problem using ATF. Scores of people don't come on this list and complain they have steering box or pump leaks after switching. Very few people seem to report any problems.
In terms of coolant, Dex-Cool is evil. Just do a google search. I would get rid of that ASAP. Inmproper conversions can cause all sorts of problems with buildup and sludge. Use Prestone Green if you don't want to use MB's own antifreeze mixed 50/50 with drinking water. Flush the system several times to get all the Dexcool out.
