Sometimes people go to extremes that are really not worth the effort. Got to admire ability and tenacity etc but jeepers, at the end of the day you don't get much for it.
I have not seen it lately but there used to be an older Ford pickup running around town that had custom made stainless steel bumpers - big boxy things that were well made but ugly as sin. I assume the owner was the craftsman and was probably a trained welder etc but it must have taken hours and hours and one has to wonder why he did it all in the long run.
