The MAS is in the air intake tract, it basically measures the amount of air being drawn into the motor and along with the other inputs tells the injectors how much fuel to dump into the motor. Not sure about the idle speed actuator in the M104 engine but it would appear that it is an all in one unit http://www.starpartz.co.uk/catalogue.asp?accessoryID=2180 . Far as I understand it the renewal of the harness takes care of the wiring issues.
