High density polyethylene, I believe.
They can become brittle and crack, but the usual culprit is dead
rubber bits or cracked hard plastic lines.
The lines often crack in the boot between door and body, the dual
diaphragms are prone to failure (but are replaceable), and the fuel
filler door (spring loaded open) and the trunk lock servo tend to be
problems.

What's the reservoir made from?
Is it susceptible to rusting or cracking?
A friend of mine bought a much used and somewhat rednecked diesel
Tempo, and the vacuum reservoir was a 46oz tomato juice can. What
can I say, it worked.
