Amiga OS was similar to the earlier (non-Unix based) Apple Mac system software, but I don't believe it was the same code. Same processors, similar board design, but I don't know the details.

LIke a Mac, it ate DOS for breakfast, but the market dropped them.

Geoworks was a very slick little program (I bought it) but the developers never managed to make the necessary interface information available -- they seem to have wanted to "own" the whole market and not really let anyone else supply programs. Too bad, it ran super fast and worked quite will on my old 286 box, fantastically fast on the 386 20 I replaced it with back in 92 or so.
