Alas, only in the fuel delivered to the filters, not the bottom of
the tank where it permits the growth of nasties. Once that stuff
starts, you must actively kill it, it won't go away on it's own!
Once you get stuff growing in the fuel, the resultant slime will plug
anything, even the lines!
Prevention is the best course of action: don't let the car sit for
long periods of time with stagnant fuel in it. Don't allow water to
collect in the tank (i.e. keep it full of fuel to prevent damp air
exchange as the tank heats and cools with the outside air -- the
water in the air ends up as condensation collecting in the tank as
the air temp drop). Use biocide (or B100) once in a while in hat,
damp weather -- Midwestern summers, for example.
