Nice to know I'm not the only one cruising around with no vacuum! Pulled it apart about a month ago and rebuilt the diaphrams.... no change. Old ones weren't ripped so no big surprise. Guess one of the 5 check valves is toast. Is there anything else that can go bad? (I've got the expensive double diaphram type pump).

I really wonder if I'm causing driveline problems with all the harsh shifting...

I thought the 722.1s were not vacuum controlled for some reason. The one
in the 78 300D has a rather elaborate linkage setup on it, but shifts like
a garbage truck so it shoud not be used for comparison. Check that, garbage
trucks shift smoother :)

Some 722.1s are vacuum controlled and some are linkage controlled. I've never been able to keep straight which ones (used on which models in which years) were which.
