Yeah, it happened, the dreaded $700 sunvisor problem. Passenger visor on 85 380SL. The last time the little left tab broke off, I glued the two pieces together, and supported the joint with copper wire through tiny holes as reinforcement. Now the wires pulled out.

The little male tabs are available new, from some aftermarket supplier.
Expensive for what they are, but they're priced according to what the
market will bear.  I've bought them for the 380.  You have to get the
visor off (which you figured out how to do), loosen the tension screw
a bit, flip the visor 180 degrees from its normal orientation on the
post, which you can't do with the visor on the car, and slide the post
out of the visor.  Thus releasing the broken tab.  Replace new tab,
and reverse to reinstall.  Do NOT mess up that tension screw, and do
NOT force anything!  You Have Been Warned!

The plastic needs no reinforcing, not until it gets old and brittle.
