Had the exact same issue on a BMW earlier this year. Agreed to buy
(at asking!) Sunday night, but didn't have cash. Fellow said he was
getting off work Monday at 5 and so to meet him then, since he wasn't
going to be able to leave work early. Sold car to someone else (new
buyer) at 4:30...

The kicker was that the next morning he called me, I of course let it
ring to voicemail, and he offered to sell me an early '90s Camry or
some such. Oh, okay, I drove in my MBZ to see your BMW and maybe I
want to buy a Toy car instead? Guy fancied himself a dealer (and had
the license to prove it) but I'm willing to bet he didn't have many
repeat customers...
