If computers are around chalk will be a no-no as it makes dust that gets into
the computer...

Best thing I found with dry erase (I'm a corporate level instructor, I use dry
erase a lot) is to erase with a paper towel. If you must use the eraser it
wants to be cleaned occasionally. Spray it with the board cleaner and scrub
with a paper towel, it'll take 2-3 days to dry, don't use it until it does...

Aaaand, permanent marker on a dry erase board can be erased by covering it with
dry erase marker first!

We get our dry erase markers at the Dollar Tree.  $0.25 each, plus
tax, but you have to buy four.  I personally hate chalkboards, have
ever since elementary school - dry erase was a big step up for me, in
the way of disposable writing.

Before my company moved I'd scavenged three of the 4x6 (? give or
take) dry erase boards, so I had a wraparound in my office, and
another rolling whiteboard in the lab.  Easy to keep lists, write
sample code, draw diagrams, etc., and I only occasionally ran out of
space. [After the move I'm down to one, have to wait until there's a
resignation/retirement to collect more.] I am using the same set of
markers I got three years ago, give or take a couple that have been
removed and replaced.

Happy new year to all,
