Yes, OSX *is* UNIX as described by the Open Group, owners of the UNIX
trademark. In fact, Linux is *not* UNIX as it has never been submitted for
certification. Neither is any of the open BSD systems.

OSX 10.6
AIX 5L
AIX 6
Solaris 10
HP-UX 11

This is UNIX 03 certified, and capable of using the UNIX trademark in
branding and advertising. Note, OSX 10.7 has not yet been submitted for UNIX
certification, so technically Lion is *not* UNIX either.  :)
