Nope. speedo cable, or broken drive gear in the trans. easy to check. Pull the speedo head. (10 min) then go for a drive. if the speedo cable is turning, its in the speedo head. If the cable is not turning, it is the cable or the drive. pull the cable out of the jacket and inspect. should be square on both ends. a round lower end indicates a broken cable. if the cable can be removed, and the jacket is not damaged/kinked where the cable broke, you can replace the core (cable) only. May not be available form Q. if not, universal cabled are at flaps. not as good as original, but easy enough to replace if needed.
