ok, I am sure that is so. I never investigated the 123 cable as
such. I never had a 123 cable fail. But on 110 and merkin iron the
statement is true.
Still, if the upper end pulls out of the jacket, its toast.

Not on the W123 cables I have seen. The transmission end is
secured and will not allow the cable to be removed from the jacket.
